You caught something wrong

Include the URL, the claim you're disputing, and your correction with a source if you have one. We update the article, log the correction with a date, and note it in the piece. If a whole section is off, say so plainly. We'd rather hear it from you than leave a bad date sitting there for a decade.

You have source material

Photographs from the motel era, the pier's history before and after the 1996 fire, Mercury-era Cocoa Beach, surf competition records from the ESA junior circuit, Patrick Air Force Base in its early years. Send what you have. Include how you came to have it and what you know about its origin. We need attribution and, where applicable, license terms before anything goes into an article. We will not use material we cannot credit.

You know something we don't

Local oral history, family records from the original beachside families, surf-scene lore that never made the newspapers. The mid-century Cocoa Beach that exists in people's memories and nowhere in a searchable archive. If your family lived on the barrier island before 1970, or worked the Cape, or competed in the early East Coast surf contests, that's primary source material and we want to hear it. Write and tell us what you know. We'll follow up.

What we can't help with

Current beach conditions, tide reports, tourism booking, hotel recommendations, or launch viewing logistics. We cover history, not today's forecast.

We read everything. Most responses within a week.
